Having spent part of today potting up a lot of seedlings of Auriculas, one can only hope that some of them will be worth having.
Sadly there were no plants of great interest on sale at Solilhull on Saturday and we went home a different way to normal so no call in at Ashwoods either. Ah well, there is always next time.

You can buy some great auricula plants at ashwoods Palustris, that last pic of mine, of the plant in the pot was from ashwoods, I was over that way earlier in the year.

Two cracking plants, Chris. There's something to attractive about a good strong yellow auric with plenty of paste and yours is lovely. The greys can sometimes look a bit 'scruffy' to my eye, but 'Athene' is a nice tidy cultivar, clearly touched by the gods.

Super plants in this thread. I've recently become almost obsessed with auriculas as Barnhaven seed sown in November 2013 is flowering, some for the first, some for the second time. The current autumn flowers are not quite up to the standard of last spring's but are still so welcome with their lovely fragrance. The doubles are especially good and one I think I'll name. It is an ochre colour, fully double, each petal crimped and scalloped and with crimson shading towards the centre. The back of each petal is fully crimson. 'Flamenco' seems an appropriate name. When it stops raining I'll take a picture. There's also a fully double bright orange, same colour as Wim's 'Prince of Orange.'

I love your 'Ahtene' Chris.

Blush Baby - don't you hate the names people adorn these flowers with?

Thanks for your comments folks. Must try to find Prince of Orange, what a striking colour that one is!  Besotted with these primulas here at this time of year. Will post a few more as they open.  Here's Kusum Krishna for starters. It's a cracking plant and I just love it!

Hi Giles
Yes all in pots. Under glass and practically no winter watering but they go out into North facing part of cold frame after repotting end June.   I do keep them out in my theatre when they are in flower but if it looks like rain I pop the farinous ones back in the greenhouse....  Anyone know a source for Prince of Orange?

Hi Chris....I got this young cutting from a friend last autumn. I'll ask him if he has any for sale.

Wim,
That would be great. I googled it but not in distribution as far as I could see.  It's a marvellous colour!  If there is anything I have I would be happy to swap
