Still quite a few drops still looking good here, though early ones are past - but look at this picture I just got from Nova Scotia  - it'll be AGES  until their snowdrop season starts - you can still enjoy that ... :D

Ingrid, I should think £2,000 should sort out your list nicely.

Thanks Brian and Emma, very interesting lists with varieties I was unaware of. These lists are always interesting to focus the mind and provoke some research into alternatives which is always fun! Off to the reference books  ;D

As a fledgling, some of these I'm likely to acquire in 2016, others are unrealistic but it's good to aspire...  ;)

To extend the flowering period I might be tempted to search for Galanthus Elwesii.  That would bring a sence of spring much earlier in my garden.

François, there are many forms of both elwesii and plicatus that flower early but you need to pick the right cultivars.

Thanks for the tip Alan.  Just need to make up my mind once I see what's available which one(s) I would like to have growing in my garden.

Well here you are Emma, this is 'Neckless Wonder' and 'La Bohème', as you can see it was a lovely afternoon and I took these on my iPad.  David may well post better pictures later.  There is the faintest hint of green on the inside of the tepal rather than the outside, it was delightful :D
