Seeds Amaryllis paradisicola
« on: November 22, 2014, 12:30:01 PM »
Perhaps I have an intrusive question but I try carefully.
I am searching seeds from the Amaryllis paradisicola. Can some one  help me?
Or do you know where I can get/buy some seeds?
Thank you very much
Kind regards

This very rare bulb has been mentioned in the forum but has  not been grown, as far as I know, by any members. It  was  only described in Bothalia 28 - 2  in 1998.

I believe that on occasion in the past, seed raised bulbs have been for sale for nearly £250 !  :o :-X
You may find only  seed being protected by a Unicorn, Ton!   ;)

RarePlants.co.uk had them in their catalogue this year at a price of 'only' £235 per fs bulb. They are sold out now, so someone hopefully have seeds next year.

Yes I also saw those bulbs, and even though rare and very nice, they where a bit too expensive for me!!!  :'(

they might also be tricky to get to flower, or take a while to establish...so as Poul said, hopefully, eventually, there might be seeds around if and when they flower with the buyers...
