Brian D. Davidson - Funeral Notice
« on: October 08, 2014, 11:23:18 AM »
It is my sad duty to inform members of the death of Brian Davidson, of Gatehouse of Fleet  in Dumfries and Galloway. a former convenor of the S. W. SRGC Group.

Brian with his wife, Ilse, at the Hexham Show in 2012

Brian was a well known and popular member, a great grower, having won many awards with his plants, including such Forrest medal successes as with Paeonia cambessedessii and Trillium pusillum ozarkanum

As well as his work for the club at local level and his support of the club with his fine exhibits, Brian was also the driving force behind such events as the SRGC 'Open Gardens of Galloway' in  June 2007.

A most charming couple, Brian and Ilse were married on 9th August 1963 at St Stephen's Church, St Albans: their family celebrated  their Golden Anniversary with them in August 2013.

Brian's funeral will be held in the Parish Church of Girthon, near Gatehouse of Fleet  (DG7 2DW)
at 2pm on Friday 10th October, to which all friends are invited.
(Should you wish to send a card to Ilse and their family- please pm me for the address)

Let  us remember Brian by enjoying some more photos of his magnificent show plants -these photos are taken from SRGC Show reports and from the pages of this forum.
