How long should the e-mail take to arrive? I got the 'Thank you for registering' over 20 minutes ago but no e-mail, including in Junk.

Hi Paul, I have activated your account now -  those using hotmail or gmail accounts can find the emails do not arrive, but I regret I  have found it hard to make sure that this info is included in all notices.

Hello Paul,
You may be getting that message ( which is a generic error message) from the cache of your machine OR - you may be entering your number and personal password into the wrong area to LOG IN , or perhaps using your number and the initial access password to LOG IN?

I have just tested the LogIn using your details and I was able to access your account straight away.
Cheers,
 Maggi

Sorry, still getting the same problem which I have never had in previous years. I've wasted enough of your time Maggi. I'll post it in the morning thanks.

I assure you it is letting me in on your details, Paul, shall  I email you privately ?
The error message may be coming from your cache. I would suggest closing your browser and reopening it to make a new attempt.

Unfortunately when ordering online it doesn't look like it is possible to prioritise second choices by preference as the update button converts the list ordered by preference into numerical order.
Quite a slick system otherwise.

Order done successfully, and now the excitement of waiting what I get, but there were again so many interesting seeds, that even if I get half of what were my first choices, I'm really happy. :)

Thanks to all in the seed team and the web team who voluntarily make the time to ensure that the Seed Exchange works! That's my order in now, the system is easy to use and hassle free...well, except for the difficult choices in deciding what species to request!  :-\
Happy to do what little I can by sending in seed and am awaiting a box for packeting.
Thanks again everyone!

You could find discussion about this  from previous years, Steve,. The system was made to the demands of the seed distribution team  who prefer that the numbers are in order. I am told , however, that pickers do try to  pick substitutes randomly from those  entered to mix the choices up a bit.

Whatever, the system works and allows thousands of members to gain access to the seeds  given by the  donors  and made up  over the next few weeks by the packeters into tens of of thousands of seed packets, ready to be picked for the requests and send out around the world.

The seed distribution team do a spectacular job. Anything that makes this job easier gets my vote.

Hi Maggi
Success! Still not entirely sure what was wrong but you certainly sorted it thanks. Mind you, I am a technophobe!
Best wishes
Paul

Good to know Paul has succeeded  too!

Neil,  let me see if I can help you out  -  It may be you are being thrown off by the mistake in the printing of the password!

To begin you need to use the access password to enter the  registration system. Once in you enter your details and choose a password - then you will activate the registration and you will then use your number and  personal password to LOG IN to the system to make your choices. I will email you with a note of both your number and the password, so you know you have that okay.

Cheers,
 Maggi
