I now work at a botany institute and there is a seed bank aiming to preserve the endangered  species of China. The seed bank recently started a project of pleione seed preservation. As pleione is not easy to set fruit in the wild ,we need to pollinate them before we can get the seeds. that's how this trip comes.
what impressed me was the species coexistence within a short range but no hybrid individuals(pleione confusa) was found
it's excited to see 3 species blooming at the same time on one mountain.

Wow!!

Thank you very much for posting these. How great to see these plants with your own eyes. Even if we can't be there, it is very informative to see the environments in which these species grow. As an aside, I wonder why bulbocodioides and forrestii don't hybridise in the wild, given they grow so close together.

Vigor,
wonderful pictures. Seeing them in the wild is so interesting, your habitat shots are great. It must have been hard work to get there. thank you for sharing your experiences with us. :) :) :)
