People among the plants as both exhibitors and public look at the results.

local  members make these shows work by organising  tombolas, selling books for the club and processing all the results -thanks to them all.

A huge thank you to all the folk who helped to make yesterday's Show such a success. I hope more folk will be encouraged to make the trip north to exhibit next year and am grateful for those who did. Thanks to our fine team of judges who judged so speedily we were able to open the Show early and huge thanks to the team from the Highland & Moray groups who worked away at all the various job that have to be done at a Show. This was the second year of having a Section V for local gardening clubs and groups to exhibit in and the Nairn Gardening Club members put some interesting plants on the benches.

If Francis & Margaret Higgins continue to win first's at the rate they did yesterday they will soon be playing with the 'big boys and girls' full time!

Looks like it was a super show again.  Thanks to Stan for snapping it so we can see.  Well done organisers, bet you're breathing a sigh of relief after all that work.  Quite interesting to see that our Mme Moderator/judge takes it so seriously she inspects the plants from behind the benches, or perhaps you were just looking for a missing pooch?

It was a super show, Christine- as has been said , Section 2 was very well supported which is always a pleasure to see.

I must confess that I will often get around to the back of a bench to see what a plant looks like from the other side - no hiding place from this Miss Marple! That particular table   made  it easy because it was just a little free standing section.   I have been known to trot half way round the hall to get to the other side of a double bench for a better look - I hate it when the benches are against a wall  :D

Thanks Christine, everything went very smoothly and the whole team did a great job and, yes, it is always good when it is over!

Nairn is very fortunate in that one of its residents run a local newsy web-blog page on the internet which has been very supportive of our club and the show. For some great pictures run the flicker 'slide show' link on the show report.

You will easily spot the break when the reporters pictures change to ones that I submitted!
