Nice group of Castlegar Paddy, mine are just showing like Brian's.

Uwe, you still have a few to come with green on the outers...... :), please post pictures when they flower. Always good to see
snowdrops with green on the outers.

Hello Hans,
your garden is a little more in the south, so you should have also the Gee some days/weeks earlier. I also have a few Gees, flowering today in the glasshouse. But all your other very noble galanthus (elwesii) ;), you showed us in December were "only" Gems, I think.
If you have too much of them....

How do you think about Uwes find?

You are right, Hagen - as my garden is more in the south than those of most Galanthusgrower in the forum, the climatical conditions are different - normally they start to flower later and stop to flower earlier because of the heat.
A few years ago I bought several pots with flowering Galanthus elwesii, mainly var. monostictus as I knew they flower earlier than var. elwesii. Think I have lost most of the var elwesii as normally growing period is to short for them here, while var. monostictus grows well and produce seedlings, unfortunately the most beautiful ones (mostly gifts) increase very slowly - hope by sowing seeds of them I will get some nice profilic plants with a lot of green which are adapted to the mediterranean conditions.

Uwes plants are very promising, they have to be observed the following years if the tips are stable. My experience: The better the conditions the better the green. Cold winter may not help very much the early ones.

That's a fantastic display.  Calling those snowdrops a clump is like calling a forest a copse.
Almost in Scotland.

I was just thinking the same.  :)
Really nice view! Like Uwe I'm a beginner but maybe someday I can see a lot of snowdrops in my garden, too. Though here it will be April when the snowdrops flower.
