Eustephia darwinii is blooming in the greenhouse.  What's not to like about August?

Eustephia darwinii is native to Peru.  Dormant in summer, blooms before the leaves appear.

Wonderful Jim,  is Peru summer dry, winter wet?
Automne here too with cold heavy morning dews and bulbs shooting.

Peter, we'll have to ask Bill Janetos about the climate in Peru.  My bulbs came to me by way of Southern California, so they may have been acclimated to that climate before I saw them.
