Dear Confused,

You may rest assured that Classes 62 and 95 at the Glasgow Show are indeed  for miniature gardens. The stated parameters are for the container size.

The Glasgow show is always a pleasant day - good light in the hall and delicious home baking.

There are some good ice-cream shops in the vicinity too, should the need arise.  ::)

Thanks Maggi.
Are there any recommended B&Bs or pubs with accommodation in the vicinity?
We would certainly travel up Friday.

When we have stayed over in Milngavie  ( pronounced Millguy !!) for the show we have used the Premier Inn -   because it is easily found, cheap and we can take the dogs( even though we've never actually had to take the muttleys into the hotel, they've slept happily in the car).

There's an eaterie attached to the inn and there are a number of more "foodie" options  nearby.

It's practically within sight of the show venue so very quick to make the transfer from inn to show.

The RHS Joint Rock Committee will meet at the Gardening Scotland Show on 31st May, though there is no SRGC show at the event. If you have any plants you wish to present to the committee please contact Carole Bainbridge by email at greenscenedesign@hotmail.com

The SRGC will however, build a display stand at this event, as in previous years.
The SRGC display team will present this year's effort as a tribute to the late Graham Wenham, a valuable member of the team who passed away on March 25th this year.
See this thread for the story of the  SRGC's 2013  exhibit.
