Narcissus in december 2007

(1/2) > >>

dominique:
Since december 1st, open the flowers of Narcissus tazetta "Avalanche", finely perfumed. I will put on it a plastic bell if the weather turn too cold, but now temperature is 8°C and it freeze rarely in this month, but winter comes  quickly perhaps !

mark smyth:
scent - you either like it or hate it! I dont like scent of these multiheaded Narcissus

Here are some comparison shots of Narcissus 'Cedric Morris' taken using my 'old' Nikon Cool Pix and my new Canon Ixus

mark smyth:
and N. rom. 'Craigton Clumper' with both cameras. Canon and then Nikon

Paul T:
Mark,

So waht colour is that last one then?  White or creamy yellow?  As I tend to like detail, I personally prefer most of the shots from your Nikon to the ones from your Canon.  At least with the flower portraits.  "Cedric Morris' is delightful...... I cried when mine didn't make it back after flowering the first year.

Ian Y:
The second shot of N.'Craigton Clumper' is closer to the actual colour of the plant.

Mark, the first picture shows no shadows and I would suspect that it was taken under cloud cover or in shade where as the second one has a strong shadow on the corona and stamens indicating it was taken in sunshine hence the warmer yellow colour.
I think this colour difference is mostly down to the available light more than the camera settings however.
