Aspidistra 'Snowcap' and 'Sekko Kan'
« on: May 26, 2013, 12:58:09 PM »
I'm looking for a source for this white tipped clone, an improved version of 'Asahi'. The only commercial source is Plant Delights in the US, and a $22 plant would cost me $250 with minimum order etc. :o

Sekko Kan is an improved variegata. See http://aspidistracastironplant.com/

Does anyone know a source?

This chap has a .co.uk web site although I can see no evidence that he actually sells the plants he lists.  He has both your Aspidistras amongst many others; maybe you can do a trade?

I thought maybe if he could not supply the Aspidistra himself he could reveal where he got his from.

Maybe you need to form a consortium of Aspidistra fanatics so you can collectively cover the minimum order cost?  A few years ago I did something similar to purchase a very expensive snowdrop.
Almost in Scotland.
