I understand the Forrest Medal has been awarded to  the Doctors Bainbridge ( well done Madam President Carole and former President Ian  !!)  for a beautiful pot of a saxifrage, grown , I  think, from seed collected by Ron McBeath .  8)

Super show, I'm told- by someone who  forgot his camera......... :'(

I did have a camera. First  the 3 pan with the Forrest saxifraga as well as the best bulb trophy- Narcissus watieri -the trio  also won  class 2 and the Dundas Quaich. Next the sax in close up. Then Cyril's  winning  6 pan which took the class 1 Caird  trophy  and included a merit cert for a Tecophilaea.  Cyril then had another certificate for a second Tec. as well as the Halley award for a rare or difficult plant.

Some more award winning entries. The Bainbridges also received a merit cert for their Kelseya. Bill Robinson was awarded a certificate for his Narcissus bulbocodium named after his wife Marion. Margaret and Henry Taylor took the  Perth trophy for most points by local  residents. Graeme Butler had best Asiatic primula and the Bobby Masterton and Murray Lyon trophies with P.cashmeriana. Sue Simpson swept the boards in section 2 with best plant, most points and a bronze medal.

Two more certificates of merit. Tom   Green received  one for his Townsendia while Cyril took yet another for his large Primula Broadwell Mikmaid - the certificate was not on the bench when the photo was taken.

more views of narcissus with admirers, two views of Asiatic primulas, two views of the class for 3 primulas - There were lots of  very good primulas throughout the show but only 4  rhododendrons of which  3 were brought by SdP who thus took the Cox trophy.
