Autumn-winter Allium

Not very attractive but fine hairs on the leaves and flower generally in december-january, but that year at the end of october : rare enough Allium chamaemoly from Italia, 2 cm high ! for sandy soil in full sun. Curious season to flower for an Allium ! An other little plant which make november less grey, mini mini sun for my eyes but not easy for all knees !!

I decided that if I keep it in a pot I have to get a darker coloured gravel to show it off!

I'm all for wee gems like this one, especially at this time of year when, from Monday to Friday I have to view my greenhouse by torchlight. The name looks like it should be pronounced (with mandatory plum in mouth) Allium chumly. , but don't get me started on pronunciation!

It needed torchlight all day here today with a howling gale and torrential rain.

Spring flowering Allium very early this year, Allium triquetrum, with the same colours that a snowdrop !

Dominique, "one man's treasure is another's weed"!
Allium triquetrum infests acres and acres of land in South-eastern Australia!
Apparently the parrots have spread this far and wide as they pick the flowerhead looking for nectar and then drop them from a great height spreading the seed!
If you want a few thousand more you just have to ask!

I understand what you tell me about this invasive Allium in Australia, but I prefer Acacia seeds !!!
