David Sellars, President, Alpine Garden Club of British Columbia, has announced that Grahame Ware is the new Editor for the Alpine Garden Club of BC Quarterly Bulletin.

Grahame attended Simon Fraser University and majored in English Lit and Critical Communications and later on went to Humber College for horticultural training.  He worked as a freelance writer/broadcaster for organizations such as the CBC, COOP radio, CJOR, CKVU-TV and Vancouver Magazine.  More recently, he has written many articles for our Bulletin, the NARGS Quarterly, The Scottish Rock Garden Club Magazine, The Plantsman and the International Rock Gardener.

He is the co-author of “Heucheras and Heucherellas” (Timber Press), the definitive guide to these genera and their hybrids working with leading Heuchera & Heucherella breeder, Dan Heims. Grahame has been a specialist grower of rare plants for over two decades and is the owner of Owl & Stump Rare Plants near Ladysmith on Vancouver Island.

"I grew up in the country and always had a shovel of some sort in my hand. I'm still in the country and I still have shovels in my hand only now they're more expensive and fancy!"

Congratulations to Grahame on this new appointment !
