A friend in Northern Norway is looking for a source for the little Korean Acer called Acer pseudosieboldianum – plants or seed. He describes A. pseudosieboldianum as a marvelous really small and very beautiful tree which is fully hardy as far north as Tromsø – and also gets gorgeous autumn colors.
Can anyone help, please?
P.S. I know there are some nurseries selling this tree in the UK, but transporting a plant to Norway is not the easiest task!

Kristl usually lists it, I think? Konnässörsklubben might be a other possibility, seem to remember seeing it in one of their catalogues in the past.

Thanks Bjørnar .
How is the move going?

I was curious so googled it - looks a nice tree.
The search showed Nickys Nursery in the UK listing seeds, also an ebay seller in the states.

Maggi,
Our Dutch Acer specialist Esveld Nursery in Boskoop has 5 plants for sale in 3 litre pots and one in a 7,5 litre pot. They do send to Norway, but it is not cheap. Starting from 36 euros for a package up to 10 kilograms. Hope this helps.

Another Dutch source is Rein and Mark Bulk also in Boskoop. They list pseudosieboldianum (plants, but no seed) too and they ship too.

Acer pseudosieboldianum...
Can anyone help, please?
I took seeds from mine just yesterday. Oh those borders... :-\
By the way the better to sow seeds while they are still greenish to germinate next spring. Dry seeds usually needs two winters for germination.

It's not only Korean. 8) Russian too. Plants from our Far East could be a little bit hardier. Acer pseudosieboldianum is hardy in Moscow area. And yes! It gets outstanding burning autumn color!
It's not small. Young plants grow slowly but after several years they do 40-50 cm per year. It could be a tree up yo 6-8 m.
The species is the only Japanese-like acer we can grow.
