Hi John,
never seen double Aster alpinus. There's one nursery here in Belgium which seems to have a "double" form: http://www.vasteplant.be/catalog/index.cfm?fuseaction=DETAIL&TREFNAAM=ASANTJ

Dag Wim ,Hello Mark I know Jan Spruyt 's nursery and his form of aster alpinus.Sabine and Suzanne are more full at least from what I saw from pictures in the book of the late german nursery man Karl Foerster
I shoud say they seem to be a bit more than double but not flore pleno.I am looking for them for 23 years now.May be I'll find them before I go and push up the daisies.

John,
mister hepatica (Andreas Händel) sells Aster alpinus 'Sabine' (http://www.hepatica-haendel.de/) for 3 euros each. You can download his plantlist from this site.
Pöppel-stauden sell A. alpinus 'Sabine' too: http://www.poeppel-stauden.de/de/Shop/Detailsicht.html?a3=25&tab_id=5123734&jump=visbak&backlnknojs=

thank you very much Wim! You are much better than Google! You seems to know the german nurseries very well.Suzanne is a double white. If one day you see it somewhere please let us know.Hartelijk bedankt.

Graag gedaan, John.
No double white to be found anywhere. I like the German nurseries a lot but it's not always easy to find which German nurseries sell certain plants.
Maybe you can ask Händel or Pöppel if they know if someone sells 'Suzanne' too?
