hello Narcissus fans. I have just uploaded a new photo gallery to Marks Garden Plants. Life after snowdrops

Well, it makes a difference to all that white....  ;D ;D
Great work Mark, but there's an error on the page as in each horizontal row, whatever picture you click on, it's the first one of the row that opens...

wellllll, I thought people might realise by clicking each row it leads to one page showing all thumbnails are larger images. They are in a line running down

Great piece of work Mark, but there is still a problem, oh! I see Luc has pointed it out too.

Ah! I see. Was there a reason you did it that way? It does seem confusing to me and must mean loads of duplicated images! Still a first rate resource though. I wouldn't have known how to start something like that.

No, no duplicates. 1 horizontal row of thumbnails becomes 1 vertical row of large images. It saves lots of writing and saves web space.

Point taken Mark, my thinking was very much "paper" based rather than "web" based. But, just click on Bambi-where's the image?

Oops... I was too quick complaining...  :( :-[ :-X

It is a great resource though, as David pointed out !

would you two rather have, on each main page, the images arranged ::?

Not findingthat all the pix work on a click though, Mark .... for instance the last one on row 5 .

From a right click  and trying to save/copy the image I can see that it is listed ad "ex old garden" .... it opens in the row view from a click on the others in the row.

I see that the 'right click try to save' method is the only way to find the names.... or am I missing some other trick?

Arranging the items in a square might make it more obvious that they are all there when you enlarge one.... I know I don't always notice that the page down/scroll bar  has more to show me  :-\

I'll sort that wee mistake in a minute. Maggi if you hover the name should appear

The old garden where I saw those two Narcissus is packed with goodies from bulbs to a choice big leaved Rhododendron with rusty under sides.

Mark, I  tried hovering... been all over the page like a demented fat humming bird.... doesn't work.

All images have a name and I just checked. What are you using to look at the internet?

Mark,

I use Safari.   I saw no names for the Narcissus, so I checked your
Nerine sarniensis gallery.  When I hover, names appear in the bottom
gray frame of the window - not just names, but the whole url.  Usually
names appear in a floating white rectangle, and I haven't noticed names
in a window frame before, so I went back to the Narcissus to see if there
are urls in the bottom frame, but there aren't.

The hover must only work with explorer. Being a web design beginner I dont know how to remedy this. On Sunday I'll add names beside all the main images

Could well be right Mark as it works for me on Internet Explorer but doesn't on Google Chrome.

Mark - I use Firefox at work and even when I "allow the page temorarily" no name or box appears.  If I right click and try to save the photo the name appears in the "save as" box only.

Will try Safari at home tonight.

johnw - down to -5c last night and still -2/3.  Snowless. Chinese Fan Palm looking a tad droopy.

And I'm using Opera. I can only see the names in Image properties.

The things I do to keep people happy. The thumbnails remain the same but each large image has a name under it. Press F5 to see the changes

I found I missed adding 15 images  ::) so it will change again tomorrow

Changes are an improvement in my opinion.  :)

OOH, pretty good photos, Mark! Does Elements (shown twice) really fade from yellow orange to white yellow?

Yes!  so much easier than hovering.

But I'm puzzled by the suggestion to press F5.  On my Mac, that will increase the
sound.  Have you added music?  ???

LOL F5 to refresh the page when using explorer

Anne thats the only photo I took of Elements. It's not on Daffseek ??? and not in the Plant Finder either

I see now why you think it fades. I had labelled Emperor's Waltz and Elements. I've just added a new photo for Emcys on line 5. It fades to white
