Title: Saxifraga retusa ssp. retusa
Post by: Cephalotus on July 28, 2010, 12:24:50 AM
Hello everyone,
I have this rare species since last year. I bought two tiny plants from which one died very soon after. The second one is still alive and have already survived -20*C. Still it is more like not growing rather than growing. I can hardly see any progress. I am growing it in acidic soil since I know it hates lime, on northern site of my rock garden behind a huge rock and it only has sun from the west. I saw some amazing photos of huge flowering plants in pots but I cannot get contact with those people. Maybe one of you have some experience with this delicate plant? It is one of the very last species that I haven't solved its cultivation mystery yet.
