Many of the special dwarf narcissus I planted last Autumn are coming through with leaves showing signs of virus, particularly from one source.
Has anyone else noticed an increase virused bulbs being sent out from suppliers?

I had a phase on old-fashioned/heritage narcissi for a while but quickly stopped that as I got sent so many virused bulbs!

I wouldn't point the finger at one UK supplier. If they haven't grown their own in their field they are bought in from Dutch Suppliers

Yes mark I think you are right
7 botanic s bought in Holland were last year infected

Well, no doubt. But the UK suppliers should check what they supply, especially given the reputation of their suppliers.

Thank you all for your PM's.
Though sorely tempted because it is so annoying to spend good money on diseased bulbs, I purposely didn't mention the supplier as I thought it would be unfair as suggested.
It seem's virused bulbs are being passed on by more than one supplier.
Does anyone know of a supplier with clean stocks of dwarf narcissus?
I was talking to Steve Dale-Lewis of the Mead Nursery near Trowbridge Wilts (lovely nursery to visit by the way) on Friday & he has stopped offering 'Lemon Silk' as he cannot get non-virused bulbs from any supplier. He mentioned something about research being done with exposing bulbs to radiation to control virus. Has anyone heard of this?
