Alessandro,

One of my favourite flowers for colour and markings.... when they're fully open the arrangement looks so much like a little satellite dish.  Have you looked at the markings within the flower, and the fact that the anthers started out a lovely blue-purple to add to it all?

Paul
this year I have thought to leave the plant within the greenhouse, the long falling back leaves are a problem in the middle of the others pot, the slid year I have stepped on many times

This plant grows and multiplies well in my climate - I just love it! Does anyone grow the purple form?

I also have seedlings of Petronymphe decora (a close relative with white flowers) coming along nicely as well, hopefully it won't be too long before the first flowers appear.

Rogan,

I've coveted the purple form for years too, and there is apparently a red form (rather than the orangey red they usually are).  I think I recall some sort of pale coloured one as well from reports on a gardening list at some point.  I just love the idea of a purple one. :o

This is Petronymphe decora; a close relative of Bessera elegans. It flowered in January this year (southern hemisphere).

P.S. the flowers are not quite as green as this; my camera tends to exaggerate the colour green.
