Hello I have now some pictures of the plants that looked so tired before.
Now they are in full bloom.
It is interesting that the pink one goes from almost white to salmon when opening the flower.
I had not seen this earlier.

It is time to show more photos of Primulas, my favourite plants: 2 allionii with very large flowers, albenensis and a hirsuta hybrid!

Very pretty Hans, I particularly like the hirsuta hybrid. Are they early for you this year? My Primulas under glass are still a little way from flowering.
-
This year the Primulas have started to flower much earlier than normally. The last year the main anthesis was opened at the end of April! I grow a lot of hirsuta and villosa hybrids from my own seeds.

Hans, it is the last of your primula pictures that is the P. albenensis, is it not?
-
Yes, the last is albenensis!

The first of my greenhouse Primulas to flower this year.
Primula x juliana Bergfruhling Red
There might have been more than one, and there could have been Yellow, Pink and Blue as well as the Red, but as the seeds had just germinated last year and were sheltering close up to the North side of the house the window cleaner kicked the lot over. We were away for a couple of days at the time and all I was able to salvage was one tiny seedling. As I have said on another thread the photograph is part of my self inflicted "improve your photographic skills" project and there is no need to mark it out of ten.

Couldn't help myself, David: seven out of ten for picture; two out of ten for dirty pot!
-
The picture is ok David - and so is the plant - don't worry too much about the pot... ;)

Ah! but I wasn't entereing it in a Show, and it's my greenhouse and my pot and I can have a dirty pot if I want, so there ;) Thanks for the 7/10, I thought about 5 myself.
Thanks Luc you are a gentleman.

Well David, every now and then, we "male chauvenist pigs" should stick together, shouldn't we ? ;D
-
David, Maggie is one of our top show judges and she will 'handbag' anybody for a dirty pot - I've still got the bruises to prove it ;)
-
David, I already have one "handbagging" expert, so far for 36 years, I don't think I can cope with another one ;D
