The flowers are no more than 1cm across. No label as usual

If not of hybrid origin perhaps Narcissus canaliculatus.

N. carnaliculatus is a hybrid? Flowers 20+mm across, well scented. If the bloom size fits, a very likely candidate.

Think that is correct. We both remember buying it a couple of years ago.
Is the proper name N.tazeta ssp. italicus?

Got another even smaller one, not managed to get a photo yet, but it is very pale yellow and about 1/2 a cm across and almost flat, ie no trumpet.

Presumably the measurements refer to the corona, not the flowers?
If you search online, you will find that there are almost endless minature Narcissus cultivars and hybrids in every colour combination and flower form imaginable. probably the best bet would be to search the websites of the major producers of this form of Narcissus. Names to look out for - Anne Wright and Brian Duncan.

It would be a fairly common one as we have never had the money to buy expensive specialities.
Not in De Jaeger or Walkers catalogues.
