Berlingo now loaded -some would say overloaded. Hope plants survive the journey.

Wow.... there's an entry to gladden any Show Secretary's heart! Hope there is still room for you!
Good luck Stan - be safe and have a lovely day.

Glad to say Stan did manage to squeeze in the car with all his fabulous plants…. and it was a treat to see them on the bench.
His display of blue and yellow plants was well received and much commented on. 🥰

Thanks Susan. The blue & yellow were some bedding plants which one would not normally take to an alpine show but I though a small gesture might be appropriate. I'll post some pics of the many fine alpines at this very well organsed show once I've sorted them out.

Once again Frank & Barbara Hoyle tabled a magnificent large 6 pan in class 1 which won the Sewell medal and included the Farrer winning Sax Coolock Gem - a most appropriate name -and a merit certificate winning Dionysia aretioides. They also received another merit certificate for a saxifrage in another class.

Chris Lilley won the Kirby cup for best foliage with Saxifraga Cecil Davis. However my notes seem to be inadequate here as I also photographed Alan Oatway's Meconopsis with a Kirby cup card beside it . Anne Wright won the Duncan Lowe award for best plant in a 19 cm pot with Narcissus Giselle, one of several elegant little narcissi she exhibted. Pat Murphy took the Michael Roberts trophy for section B and the David Mowle award for best bulb in a 19cm pot in sections 2/3 wth N Medway Gold.

North west members staged a very informative display on growing alpines in containers which the judges unanimously recognised with a large gold medal. It was too large to get in one photo.

Stan, beautiful show. Thanks for showing.

Magnificent report once again Stan thank you for taking me and the others who still cannot attend in person to the Show with you the only thing I am missing is the cakes and the chat.
Well done on your entry and I am sure most of the world will appreciate the sentiments behind your blue and yellow display .

These shows only take place because local members put in a lot of work to set everything up and run the day

All good things come to an end. Within half an hour of the show closing the plants were into cars and the very efficient local team were dismantling the staging. I'm told there were 16 exhibitors in the open section wth 345 plants in 224 entries; 15 exhibitors in section 2 with 96 plants in 84 entries and two people in section 3 entering eight plants.

Many thanks for your efforts, Stan - quite a feat to not only support the show with your plants but also to share your photos with us so we can all enjoy the proceedings.
Your Ukraine flag coloured flowers are a touching tribute to our Ukrainian friends who are suffering so much right now.
Well done!
