Post by: fermi de Sousa on July 01, 2021, 02:43:27 PM
Mid-winter here but the days are lengthening - was able to be outside till nearly 6pm!
1) Acis tingitana but received as another species
2) Narcissus sdg ex 'Oidle Loidle' (one of Lawrence Trevanion's "Baby Talk" series)
3) Narcissus maybe romieuxii
4) Narcissus 'Virivest' (01_01MJ = Westholme x N. viridiflorus 7G-G -> 7W-Y) from Lawrence Trevanion
5) Narcissus 'Winter Colors' #5 (my numbering for a collection of bulbs under this name also from LT

Lovely collection Fermi for the time of year. I have a first 'Atlas Gold' out today (yesterday actually) but nothing else except Cyclamen coum and most of those are hiding under the leaves of my big red magnolia. Yet they are very strong because the leaves are 6-8 inches long and almost like leather but the cyclamen stems are able to lift them to reach the daylight. They are a full month later than last year.

Could I beg please for a little seed of the Acis tingitana when it is ready? I believe it is in NZ yet I've never seen it. My next Narcissus will likely be Tony Darby's 'Emerald Sea' x Limequilla' which is very early, very vigorous and very beautiful both to look at and to sniff. A fantastic scent probably from N. viridiflorus which grows here with me but doesn't flower. Not enough summer heat I think.

Hi Lesley,
I'll be happy to. Can you please check your version of Biosecurity to make sure it's allowed in? I tried checking before the NZAGS Seedex but could not make much sense of it!
