Title: Narcissus August 2020
Post by: fermi de Sousa on August 01, 2020, 01:29:26 PM
The first daffodil for August is one of the Narcissus viridiflorus hybrids raised by Paul Rumkoff (vanozzi on the Forum) by crossing N. viridiflorus with the hybrid (N. 'Quickstep' x N. fernandesii).
This is one of the ones close to Narcissus viridiflorus  and probably fades as it matures

Doug Bryce was a past president of the Victorian Daffodil Society and bred a number of daffs which he named after local towns.
I grew some seed from his daffodil 'Barfold' and this is the sole survivor which is doing nicely

A new one from Glenbrook Bulb Farm this year - Narcissus 'Trumpocodium' - I was a bit hesitant because of its name but apparently it's a cross between a "Trumpet" daff and a N. bulbocodium!

Thank, Shelagh,
It was raised by Graham Fleming and named for a past parliamentarian (Graham is in Canberra where the Australian Federal Parliament is located)
