The first Rhodophiala of the year opened a couple of days ago despite the overcast skies and chilly weather. Rhodophiala montana from Chilaeflora seed.

Huge anthers in comparison to the size of the flower!

A new hybrid I made a few years ago. The cross is R. advena x R. montana. it seems synced to R. montana which is just hours from opening - see last year's post just above. This one is yellow and the second, which is not open yet, promises pale peach - in the rear. They appear very fragile compared to either parent.

A kind gift of seed from Ashley, Rhoodophiala pratensis in flower yesterday. Originally from Chilaeflora. ashley do you recall the year that was? I can only recall it was the year of your disastrous greenhouse freeze.
