Title: iris leaf spot
Post by: John85 on May 16, 2019, 12:37:38 PM
Is there an organic way to control it? Copper sulfate is"allowed" but I am reluctant to use it because it kills a lot of good bugs in the soil.
Very old cvs are less prone to the disease. Can you recommend some resistant cultivars?

Is  leaf-spot  mostly a  problem on bearded iris / those with  rhizomes ?    We  don't  grow  any  of those - and leaf-spot  does  not  seem to be  a problem here, thank goodness. Perhaps  our  weather  is  seldom humid  enough to  encourage its  growth ?

You must be jocking Maggi! Not humid enough in Scotland!Ok the East coast is much drier than the West but even so!
It is mainly a problem with iris germanica hydrids and with the new cultivars even more
Not all iris with a rhizome have that problem
