This Lewisia tweedyi  is  sadly not going to Perth Show  today  for  Sue Simpson Watt - poor  George  has  hurt  his  knees and they are  stuck at  home.

Cheerful flowers, are they not?  They  make  me think of  summer!

been a good year - the tunnel they are in has been in the 40's most days - seem to like it

Just seem to be a lot of pure white ones - potted a lot of seedlings this year so hopefully next year should have a good display

I used to have quite a collection of Lewisias,  mainly cotyledon  forms, longipetala, oppositifolia, nevadensis and columbiana, but three years of struggle with woolly aphids gradually wiped them out (wiped out most of my Primulas too) and this year I'm inclined to start again from seed. But I couldn't resist buying one or two for some summer colour in the greenhouse.

Lewisia cotyledon 'Elise'  and a longipetala hybrid  Lewisia 'Little Tutti Frutti'.

These  photos are  from Facebook - by  Lawrence  Peet, of the  stunning Lewisia rediviva, grown from seed  35 years  ago by Alan Furness, which won the  Farrer  Medal at the  AGS  East  Cheshire  show - isn't this  plant  lovely?  And I believe this was Alan Furness' 30th Farrer  Medal win!
