Himalayan Weekend - Lockerbie 22-23 June 2019 - SRGC 3rd David Boyd Event
Enthusiasts of Himalayan plants and flowers are invited to gather in the border town of Lockerbie 22nd- 23rd June 2019, to take part in the 3rd SRGC Event in memory of the late plantsman, David Boyd.
All Welcome!! A contribution of £5 per day is payable at the event to offset expenses.
There will be talks, a meeting of the RHS Joint Rock Garden Plant Committee, plant sales and garden visits - all details below.
The event is organised by the SRGC in partnership with the Meconopsis Group, RBGE, The Caley (RCHS) and the Scottish Rhododendron Society.
Main events will be in the Lockerbie Town Hall, High Street, Lockerbie DG11 2ES
Tea, coffee, biscuits and cakes will be on sale, but you are asked to bring your own picnic lunch.

11am Willie Campbell (The Scottish Rhododendron Society) and David Chamberlain (The Scottish Rhododendron Society) ‘Rhododendrons in the Wild’

10am Tim Lever (Aberconwy Nursery) ‘High Himalayan Alpines in the Wild’
11am Ian Christie (The Scottish Rock Garden Club) Meconopsis, Ericaceae and Cypripediums in the wild and how to grow them.
2pm Mike Thornley (Glenarn Garden and The Gardens of Argyll) ‘On the wild side; growing Rhododendrons in Scotland’
3pm onwards .........Garden Visits

Another enticing garden in Sandy’s next report though I have to point out that the plant with the “eye shadow” isn’t the Libertia, but a Tasmanian plant called Diplarrena morea!
