RHS Joint Rock Committee has opened a Twitter page.
This is a Joint Committee of the RHS, AGS and SRGC concerned with Alpines, Rock Garden Plants and Dwarf Bulbs. RHS Awards are given and sometimes Trials are organised for these plants.

The RHS Joint Rock Plant Committee awarded a 'Cultural Commendation' to Diane Clement for her Ypsilandra thibetica at the @Alpinegardensoc Pershore Early show Photo DonPeace

A 'Cultural Commendation' was awarded to Peter Hood for his Corydalis sewerzowii at the @Alpinegardensoc Pershore Early show

An 'Award of Merit' was made to Hepatica henryi shown by Bob Worsley at the @Alpinegardensoc Pershore Early Show. Bob was also given a 'Cultural Commendation' for his skill at growing the plant.

The RHS Joint Rock Plant Committee @RHSJointRock gave an Award Of Merit to Iris pamphylica shown by Colin & Elaine Barr at the AGS Harlow Early Spring Show. Colin & Elaine were also given a Cultural Commendation for their skill at growing the plant.
The plant also won the Farrer Medal for best in show - Well done to Colin and Elaine Barr!

Edit: Dionysia aretioides x teucriodes , shown by David Charlton, will be given the cultivar name ' Evie Jane Nicholls' after the beloved grandaughter of the Rraiser of the plant, Pat Nicholls. The plant was given an award by the RHS Joint Rock Garden Committee and so needs a name - so lovely to see it remembering one of Pat's two tragically deceased baby grand-daughters.

The RHS Joint Rock Committee met at the recent AGS show, held at RHS Hyde Hall.
RHS Joint Rock Committee presented its first annual award for the advancement of knowledge in the Science, Breeding, and Cultivation of alpine plants. This is called the Jim Archibald Award and was handed to Tim Lever at the Hyde Hall AGS Show last Saturday.
As can be seen from our committment to the #ArchibaldArchive on http://srgc.net we're right behind this great new award from @RHSJointRock to commemorate Jim Archibald - many congrats to Tim Lever !
Also on Saturday, the rare Italian endemic Saxifraga berica, grown by Mark Childerhouse was awarded a Botanical Certificate by the Joint Rock Committee and a Certificate of Merit by the AGS.
