Title: My Hippeastrum striatum needs help!!
Post by: VidaSvahn on January 01, 2019, 09:57:31 AM
Hi everyone!

Hope you're all enjoying the holidays and Happy New Year! Last spring I received two small bulbs of Hippeastrum striatum from a very dear friend. I had to leave them with my grandma and unfortunately she left them in an unheated greenhouse in Halland, Sweden, and they thus have been exposed to subfreezing temperatures regularly for the past month or so. I gave her 10+ plants to look after, all with different care requirements, so I don't blame her for mixing them up, but I do hope to save my poor Hippeastrum! Anyone have any advice? I am quite inexperienced with bulbs and really have no idea what to do with them.

Cut the damaged parts from the bulbs and let the bulbs dry out. If the baseplate and center is not damaged they will sprout again.
