Title: unknown fern help needed
Post by: shelagh on April 09, 2018, 11:20:17 AM
This poor little fern has been sitting in the cold frame for at least 2 years. It has no label. I don't remember buying it, being given it or sowing it.
It's been dreadfully neglected but can anyone help with identification. I have pictured whole fern 8cm tall, how it grows from the base and the reverse of a frond.

Polystichum lonchitis? I can,t make out the individual leaves. If not it may be a foreign species.

I think you've got it Ian, thank you.  If it ever gets on the show bench we'll see if the "experts" agree.
