Title: Iris foetidissima
Post by: John85 on March 22, 2018, 09:12:14 AM: Does anyone have some experience in sowing them?
Do you clean the seeds and remove the orange flesh?
Do they need vernalization?
When do you see the first sign of germination?

I grow one called 'Picos Yellow', it's quite floriferous & a good, clear colour...

In Germany, none are offered at the moment, although, according to Fritz Köhlein´s book ´Iris´, there must have been a variety of colours available mor than 30 years ago.
My variegated Iris foetidissima never flowered for me, but for friends, who received a piece of it. It was a nice surprise when they told me about it and were kind enough to share their picture.

This one is propagated by division, I had it from Snowdrop People...

The strange ting is purple anther of it. Is it not I . foetidissima, I am not sure.Do I have to wait till seeding?
