Hi all ,
I would like today post some Pictures of my Primulina tamiana ....it is flowering so nice today
The quality of the pics is not the best ...but with this bad weather it is impossibly to take pics outside ...
Last year I had the idea to try some Gesneriads ...a genus which is new for me
I have ordered from Mauro Peixoto some portions seeds ...
When I opened the envelope from him and start with sowing I was really surprised about the size of the seeds ...but with some advices from some plant friends I have tried ...
After some weeks first seedlings comes up -look for the first picture
Few month later I could separet in single small pots ...and again in bigger pots - than to my big surprise first flowers starting ( after 4- 5 month from sowing )
Before few weeks I have seen that some flowers forms fruits - really surprise because I have never pollinatet this plants ( they are always here in my windowsill )
Thats are really great plants :)
Have fun
Hans

That's a beauty Hans 8), and so fast from seed even if a bit challenging to sow ;D.

Here are two other pots with seedlings from Mauro ( sown same time like Primulina )

Also I grow a Saintpaulia ...which came unnamed to me ..
.with the help of a german specialist for Sainpaulia I have now receid a Name :
Saintpaulia 'Optimara Chagall'
Just for testing I have made a cutting ( before 5 month ) - after a short time of rooting I have pottet this plant and sine some weeks it is also flowering :)
The Color is a little different from mother plant ...but I think in some month ( with same Substrat + same fertilizer ) is not more any difference

Really lovely Hans. Said before that you just have to look at seeds and they grow for you. Getting them to flower so fast as well. Hope you get some lovely weather to enjoy them.

Hans here are your little babies that you sent me. I had never heard of this plant before and I am enjoying them. They have very pretty flowers and I can see that there are many more to come.
Thanks for your generosity yet again.

A few Petrocosmea now in flower. These are grown in clay pots in a shaded frame where they are kept moist in growth but dry over winter. There is a small tube heater in the frame but despite this the temperature fell to -3C last Winter. None of the Petrocosmea were damaged by this.
Petrocosmea forrestii -A bonny wee plant named after a Falkirk bairn.

Rather than starting a new thread so late in the year I'll post here instead.
Kohleria 'Sunshine' is very cheery as the autumn days quickly shorten.

Here are new pictures :)
