Title: Saxifraga exarata ssp. moschata - red flower
Post by: Gabriela on February 18, 2017, 05:10:49 PM
Reviewing some pictures from Carpathians I noticed for the first time a Saxifraga exarata ssp. moschata with red flowers. Usually such forms are only given from the Caucasus.
More than this, it fits to var. compacta (very short flower stems) described in an old plant determinant (even if varities are not really recognized anymore).

I thought this would be of interest for other Saxifraga enthusiasts; problem is I don't know if I can retrace the place where the photo was taken :-\
