Congratulations, Ruben!
Well, my September 'storm' isn't going to happen, but at last I have finished potting the snowdrops and can START on my daffs. A good morning's work in preparation :

Part 1 of what is flowering now. As you will see the slugs have taken chunks out of some of our best flowers. They will be used for hybridising. It has been a very wet spring in Canberra this year.

Hybridising slugs as well, now? ;D ;D
Seriously though - some very pretty seedlings, I like the bicolour triandrus especially.

Some more photos.

Hi
Some more photos.
-
Hi
You will see from my postings that we have lots of miniatures flowering late season that are 7W-P and one that is 7P-P.
-
Hi
The last of our photos for the night.
-
I like the tiny nivalis. I just potted some seedlings of one like that. After 3 years they are still only 3mm long x 1mm in diameter!
-
At last I've reached the best bit of repotting - looking at the 2 year-old seedlings for the first time.
It can be hard to spot the tiny bulbs amongst the perlite, but it's easier if the old leaves are still attached. Sometimes there is just one tiny bulb!
-
The BD tells us that the long bulbs are asking to be planted deeper. Sometimes you get a much bigger harvest! There are 143 Narcissus rupicola bulbs potted in one pot and 96 N. cantabricus in the other

Now that's an interesting cross - N. astureinsis x poeticus hellenicus?! Any ideas how it might turn out?
-
A lot of Jewels to look forward to Ann!! ;D
Here the second autumn flowering Narcissus is almost in flower

No idea - that's the fun bit! ;)
-
Mercy, Anne! You've placed every one of those babies the right way up by tweezer ?? BD says you must have too much time on your hands - I'm inclined to agree! :-*

Ah, that'll be it! They're even colour matched with the daffs!!

If only! Yep - by tweezers. Got to look after my babies. Start at 8am and finish when it's too dark to see.
-
Goodness! My eyes would have gone squiffy before lunchtime.

Hi
Some photos of some exceeding good seedlings. We are starting to seed a range of outstanding jonquilla seedlings flower. It has been worth the wait. We also have a lot of very good triandus seedlings flowering now. It has been very wet here so that has limited hybridising opportunities this year.
-
Hi
A few more photos.
-
Very pretty.
-
Hi
We have fertile Division 7's and Division 5's so we have lots of beautiful seedlings coming through now. Most of them are mid-late season flowering although we have quite a few that are very late flowering thanks to using Quickstep and late flowering triandus as pollen or seed parents. Our season now extends well into October.
-
Hi
More photos. We are also breeding poeticus so plenty of late things around.
-
Hi
My last lot of photos for the night. It includes our very special Division 8 split cup.
-
Narcissus broussonetii - autumn flowering narcissus from Marocco in flower in the garden. It is unfortunate is can't add the very lovely jasmine scent.
-
Beautiful, Ruben. I can almost imagine that I smell it.

Hi Ruben,
lovely to see it! How do you grow it? Is it always under cover?
I got a bulb of it recently and discovered that it is frost tender!
It is now grown in a pot kept on the verandah and hopefully kept frost-free.
When do you feed it? I look forward to your information,
cheers

Hi
Some more photos. While we are primarily miniature hybridizers we dabble in some of the big Divisions as well. We have developed a range of high quality exhibition jonquilla hybrids that have between 2 and 6 florets. We also have developed a range of Division 5 cultivars that have between 2 and 6 florets. We have also developed a range of high quality Division 11 cultivars that standard size or intermediate size that are eye-catching.
-
Hi
Some jonquilla hybrids and our triandus hybrid with 6 florets.
-
Hi
We have done a lot of hybridising of poets this year. We got some of Tony Davis' seedlings. They are world class so it should not take us long to develop a new lines of miniature and standard sized poets.
-
That Div 5 with 6 florets is really nice!
I quite like that split with the yellow edging 8) (Don't tell Leslie! :o )
Looking forward to your next list, Graham,
;)
cheers

-
Lovely poets too. :)
-
Do the hybridised "poets" retain the lovely scent of the poeticus parents?
-
Narcissus broussonetii with more and more flowers ;D
-
Hi
Maggi I am not sure of the perfume status of the various poeticus hybrids and species we grow. However, a lot of our miniatures and standards are heavily perfumed. Our farm is not the place for asthmatics or people with an allergy to daffodil perfume.
-
Hi
More photos of perfumed seedlings
-
Hi
Even more photos of perfumed seedlings.
-
How lovely- I so wish we had a scent button - my nose twitches in anticipation of those fragrances.
-
Some very nice div 7 seedlings!
