Have had this for 5 years and hope the flowers open. One of my late sisters plants , she never managed to get it to flower . She had so many succulents which I found homes for but this one was a challenge for her so I kept it. I can't wait to see it open this is why I am posting before the flowers open , just in case they drop off before opening . Anyone any idea of its name ?

Today flower started to appear, must say can't believe how quick it has done this. Looks as if it's going to be a lovely flower. Maybe once I post a picture of the flower open someone can name it for me.

Think it looks like the Ipomoea as the ball is more the shade of the first one. Can you believe I missed the flower opening :'(It must have just lasted the day what a disappointment but there are lots more to come so I will be watching this time.
Thanks Maggi, I can never find what I am looking for on the Internet, maybe it's because I don't have much patience.

I'll praise you, Angela! You stuck in there with the plant, waiting so long for it to flower - I hope it flowers every year now - just a beautiful reminder of your sister's favourite plants.

Funny Maggi after I read your words about my sister I remember that I had kept one of her books . I gave most of her plants and books away but a member had told me to hold onto this book. After searching for ages I came across it and she marked all the plants that she had, not good for the book but now I think I have the name . Some more flowers for me to enjoy today .

Hi John
It says the flowers are like morning glory and they are exactly like that. My sister had a cross above the picture in the book but it never picked it up in the photo that I took. The name under the picture is Ipomoea welwitschii. Hope she is pleased that I got her plant to flower. Happy now.
