I'm enjoying your very practical and experienced erythronium articles, Ian :)

There are some colour variations in Erythronium japonicum in natural habitat like as dense-canis.
Here you can see some white E. japonicum variations with or without blotches, and pollen colours.

Great links, Tatsuo -  that white form is just glorious   8)  Even the pollinator is good-looking!

Many, many thanks for posting this wonderful world of Erythronium japonicum.

Our bluebell woods look lovely, but thr flowers can be a weed in the garden.  Erythronium japonicum and most Erythronium can never be weeds,
