Title: white lime sport

Last Friday I found a lime tree, Tilia sp., that had several white stemmed white leaved twigs

They really are whiter than white, eh?  The tiny green parts look "pixelated"  ;)

Attached to the parent tree such sprigs might survive a while but you couldn't root cuttings, could you, because they couldn't photosynthesize  ?
