Title: amarcrinum 2013
Post by: François Lambert on October 24, 2013, 12:20:04 PM
I received this amarcrinum bulb a few year ago, the first two years it did not really thrive well, but after changing the potting soil from a rather peaty one to a mixture of sand, garden soil (contains lots of clay here), home made compost and still some of that peaty old potting mix it not only started to grow better and make offsetts, but this year I its' flowering !  The exotic foliage below the flowers is from nasturtiums that I have sown more than 2 meter away from this amarcrinum  ;D because I was told they keep slugs & snails away.  They seem to have done this job perfectly, but they do have an invasive growth.
