Title: Aquilegia viridiflora looks sick
Post by: Jupiter on June 24, 2013, 07:11:26 AM
I have two plants of A. viridiflora which are quite precious to me and I was a bit concerned when I noticed both plants appear to have some kind of fungal dieback, affecting the crowns of the plants and the very small new leaflets which are turning black and decomposing. It's winter here and is I suppose the closest we'll get to dormancy, with the days getting long from now on I would have expected most Aquilegias to be waking up and putting on a grow.

I just gave them both a liberal squirt with mancozeb, systemic fungicide based on an organic, soluble sulphur compound.

Has anyone seen this black disease in their plants?
