Title: Ammocharis 2013
Post by: jshields on June 16, 2013, 01:34:48 AM
I've had the very first bloom ever in my greenhouse of Ammocharis baumii, formerly known as Crinum baumii until DNA upset the applecart.  These seeds were provided to the I.B.S. seed exchange by Dr. David Lehmiller in 2003, whence I got them.  His bulbs originated in Namibia.  So it has taken 10 years from seed to first flower.  A single lone flower per scape is normal for this dwarf bulb.
