A new paper has just been published on a new Sternbergia, found by Ruslan Mishutin.....
Sternbergia mishustinii (Amaryllidaceae): a new species from the Mersin Province in southern Turkey

Sternbergia lutea today. After staying green all winter long it is now going into a summer rest.

Mintemp -32C (Over the last 50 years. Absolute minimum - winter of 1939-1940 -39C),

Those are beautiful, Fermi! All of my Dutch bulbs did not make it through the winter, but the Bulgarian ones are doing just fine. Will post pictures September-ish.

Yes, but only by taxonomists ;D
I don't agree with a lot of "lumpers" (see my comments about nerines!)
