They seed all over in my garden.  Some are going over now, but most have been in bloom for a month or more.  This one caught my eye....

and as as last unidentified double blue cultivar.
You can see those on my website, too - it is first day of it - rarebulbs.lv  and I would like to hear your comments. I'm still only learning how to work with it.

Some times ago we discussed the origin of this Hepatica nobilis 'Óle', and I made some research. It is found in the south of France, and the finder gave it the name. Anyway it was close to Spain.

I'm just catching up on this thread and feel almost intoxicated. So many, many lovely pictures of hepaticas shown here. Thank you all!  My poor plants suffer badly this cold spring and haven't really started to flower yet.

I did wonder about the anther colour, but was hoping leaves might be different. Most of the plants I have labelled as nobilis have white anthers. I suppose it's possible the ones that don't may be hybrids.

Most H. nobilis have white anthers but I have many times found plants with coloured anthers, growing in the wild. Sorry Anne, not any help.

'Louise Koehler' is beautiful, Peppa. The Hepatica season has started here as well, very late this spring.

1. Hepatica nobilis 'Tausendschön'
2. H. nobilis, blue double
3. Hepatica 'Harvington Beauty'
4. Seedling
5. Seedling
