I see we already have a pretty comprehensive view of the show but will add my penny worth. It was a good show on all accounts with plenty plants on display, plenty folk through the door, busy plant sales which seemed to do a roaring trade ...all of which meant that show secs John and Bill had plenty to smile about. I was amazed by the number of exhibitors from South of the border...the 3 lane M74 makes quite a difference to the journey now...we always have good support at Blackpool and Hexham from the Scots so its good to see the complement returned.
Pictures: Cyril Lafong had another stunning day , exhibiting a broad church of flowering plants at a very high standard to back up his formidable reputation so I will start with a selection from Cyril
Daphne petraea Forrest Medal
Androsace hirtella x cylindrica
Cypripedium 'Maria'...he also had an Award of Merit for another Cyp but my pic was poor however Ian Christies does it proud
Daphne calcicola
Lewisia cotyledon
Penstemon uintahensis
Trillium pusillum

Having your named  close- ups  of plants is really useful George as the snaps I do just give  more general views of the event. Photos of people seem popular so here are some of the cross- border contingent.

Some of them most important people deserve a post to themselves. As a connoisseur of the subject I can vouch for the excellent  home baking that is served up by the kitchen team at the Glasgow show. A queue soon formed to sample their wares,

Comment  may be dangerous but what is light flickering?-is it even legal?-  and can the NHS in Glasgow not do something  for these unfortunate gentlemen?

Garden visit over time to rest the legs so will continue with my last pictures
Paenia cambessedesii Alan Spenceley....got a Certificate of Merit....Betty Ivey was wowwed by this I gather
Paris quadrifolia from Watt Russell was the best Scottish Native plant
Pleione 'Fuego' (I think) from Graham Catlow
Primula bracteata from Ian Kidman...best primulaceae in show..listening to show visitors/exhibitors the award should have gone to
Primula reidii v williamsii from Graeme Butler...only got a yellow sticker but won the hearts of many
Ramonda nathaliae fron Shiela and Brian Smethurst...they are v fond of the Ramondas and grow them very well
Ranunculus glacialis from Sam Sutherland in the new, rare or difficult class. It caused the judges some difficulty as it was up against the Oreosolum and the P. uintahensis pictured earlier, for me I can never get my R glacialis to flower at all even though I have been trying for years to make...have to say my plants leaves look different but Brian Burrow says that Sams plant is correct.
Rhododendron 'Wee Bee' from Stan da Prato...no picture show of the show would be complete without one of Stans' rhodies
