Extraordinary!
I see from another page on that site that there is a listing of the year's earliest sightings...
http://butterfly-conservation.org/text/853/first_sightings_2012.html  -from which I see that the Red Admiral was recorded on 1st January in Sussex..... stranger and stranger.

It was also seen in Devon during January.
