Extraordinary!
I see from another page on that site that there is a listing of the year's earliest sightings...
http://butterfly-conservation.org/text/853/first_sightings_2012.html  -from which I see that the Red Admiral was recorded on 1st January in Sussex..... stranger and stranger.

It was also seen in Devon during January.

Please Geranium and Pelargonium growers, try to take this one for the environment! Its only a small insect, but give it a chance please,
