flowering sequence
« on: May 18, 2011, 02:31:54 AM »
I have a question on the flowering sequence on a Lachenalia.  I have a plant that I've had trouble applying a name for and noticed soemthing that puzzles me.

The one suggestion was L. liliflora.

Problem is my plant has the flowers opening from bottom up and the sample in Graham Duncan's book shows flowers opening from top down.

Any botanical wizards out there who can describe this or does it have a name.

In medical terms  we  would say that flowers are opening from proximal to distal  ( bottom/top) or distal to proximal ( top/bottom).

thanks,
