Is this a tricky plant?It looks nice but seems not to be often grown.Why?Is there somebody who grows it and has an explanation?

I have had it two or three times and lost it.  I wish I knew what the secret was, it probably doesn't like our soil :-\

And how is your soil?Where did you grow it?Rock garden,raised bed,border?Do you think it needs a pane of glass and that your plant died because it was too wet during the winter?

John our soil is very free draining, I grew it in a sunny border but, as you say, it may well have been the winter wet that killed it.
