Aha! I'm a big fan of Robert Plant... do you know his recent recordings with Alison Krauss ? Fantastic! And one Ian has just bought.... I'll look for the title.



 This reminds me of a time when I got a new hairstyle, longish curls, I liked it very much  ...   but my friend said .... oh, that's different... you look just like Robert Plant.

My vote for most irritating....... "Agadoo" by Black Lace.  Horribly infectious once it gets into your head.  Totally inane and pointless whatever way you look at it.

Hope Ian is enjoying the new Robert Plant album Maggi. I was pleased to see he has covered two songs by Low - my favourite contemporary band, who I saw live only two weeks ago, and made a good job of them too. Unfortunately I think they are Susan's least favourite songs on the album..

As for irritating pop songs, I'm casting my vote for 'Hey Mickey' by Toni Basil.

 I'd agree with Cliff regarding 'Rap', a genre whose name I always felt was missing a 'C', except that I don't want to legitimise it by mentioning it in a thread about actual songs.

Darren, myself I prefer RP's "Raising Sand" with the sublime Alison Krauss, but "Band of Joy"  is a fine album....playing it got us happily up and down to the recent AGM !

The most irritating pop songs are all those after about 1989!
